Rice Exporters Association of Pakistan (Reap) Chairman Jawed Ali Ghori has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Investment Advisor of Board of Investment (BoI) Dr Hironao Takahashi for initiating a project of ‘rice technical institute’ in Pakistan. Reap Chairman Jawed Ali Ghori, while talking with the media, said that Reap had to take instant measures for increase in rice export trade.
Further, he emphasised to develop the skilled labour and to generate more employment opportunities in rice export trade through a rice training institute and he wished to start rice technical schools in Sindh and Punjab provinces up to the end of 2013 and for this purpose, Japanese consultant had agreed to provide full support.
In this context, BoI Investment Advisor Dr Hironao Takahashi and Reap Chairman Jawed Ali Ghori have signed a MoU on Wednesday to build a rice technical institute in Pakistan. The Reap Chairman requested Trade Development Authority of Pakistan (TDAP) to provide the financial support from the Export Development Fund (EDF), so that the provision of skilled labour may be made possible, as there is an ample demand of trained labour staff for rice mills. “With the help of Reap’s project we would be able to cope with this challenge very comfortably”, he said.-PR
