PHDEC holds workshops, seminars on vegetables

Pakistan Horticulture Development and Export Company (PHDEC) launched a series of workshops and seminars for capacity building of vegetables, dates and other horticulture products’ growers and prospective exporters. The Company arranged two high-profile capacity building workshops for vegetable and dates’ growers recently to apprise the participants about economic benefits and advantages of tunnel farming. 

The workshop to inform audience about the benefits of vegetable tunnel farming was arranged in Chiniot, where several growers and other stakeholders attended the workshop. The stakeholders showed great enthusiasm for production of vegetables by adopting tunnel-farming techniques. General Manager (North and Central) Jamal Ali Hasnie gave an exhaustive presentation on the working of PHDEC and tunnel farming. He furthered that growers and exporters should contact PHDEC for facilitation. 

A workshop for date palm growers was also held in DI Khan where speakers highlighted the scope of Dhakki dates for exports. Hasnie briefed the participants on the export potential of date export especially the Dhakki dates. The workshops were replicated in Jahanian and Khanewal for Kinnow growers, where a large number of Kinnow growers of the area participated.
